Hometown: Byron Bay Label: House Of Hustle Residencies: La La Land / The Northern

Birthed into the doof scene in the surrounding hills of Byron Bay, Taya was brought up into a life rich with musical influence, experimenting with live music from the tender age of 9, approaching DJing at 13 and immersing himself into the world of production at only 15. Playing a big part in the north coast psy-trance scene as a teenager, Taya made the move to house at his coming of age, moving to Berlin for a year soon after to explore the smooth 4x4 sound. This was the city that truly exposed his musical calling. Since then Taya has become easily the busiest DJ in Byron Bay, comfortably holding residencies at La La Land, the most prominent venue in the Bay, and The Northern, which sees him as the closing DJ for most live bands touring through the region. It’s an understatement to say his list of supported electronic acts is hefty; Dusky, Jay Lumen, Catz n Dogz, DJ T, Kolombo, Doorly, Kry Wolf, Chris Lorenzo, Cause and Effect, Flight Facilities and Rufus are just a few. Taya’s passionate approach to the scene has established him as a worthy part of the coasts most respected brandings including Elsewhere GC and Nautic Giants, Essential Intentions, Club Raiders, Sunday Safari and Immerse. A regular at festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Bizarre Garden and even the famed Exodus, the diversity in his sound breaks down barriers between genre devotees, never failing to have every body on the dance-floor moving not matter the setting. His feats in production have seen Taya top the Beatport charts to no ones surprise. Releasing on Belgium based label House Of Hustle, his single “Top Of The World” hit #1 on the Beatport Deep House Charts and was followed by “Weekends” reaching #1 on the Beatport Nu Disco Charts. Entering a more techhouse / techno direction, the Taya sound is ever changing and developing as he continues to explore beyond the limits of audible boundaries.
